Not There! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps

Games went well tonight in the second week of games and with each team having a two game slate, teams were ready to go. By no way did they let the night go to waste as the teams tonight fought hard the entire way. Arms were definitely getting tired on both sides as none of the teams had the late relievers like they did in the World Series!

Not In The Face battled with A-Team in the first matchup. Not In The Face got ahead early and jumped out to a 3-0 lead, although when they switched sides of the court, momentum shifted. A-Team battled back strong and were able to steal two games back. Unfotunately they didn't have the fire power to complete the comeback but they definitely deserve some credit for their strong showing. Kudos to A-Team with the great game and congrats to Not In The Face for pulling out the win.  We look forward in seeing all of the teams next week while enjoying Sam Adams Octoberfest at MH Cafe!

Starting Off Balls Deep! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps

Games went well tonight in the first week of the regular season in dodgeball at Sportsplex. Teams were able to release their frustrations by throwing balls at opponents, definitely a good sense of stress relief. Teams are unknowing of each other so they made sure to leave everything on the court tonight as nothing was promised!

Games were competitive throughout the night without a doubt this evening and it was a blast for everyone involved. One team in particular that is very familiar with the game is Balls Deep.  This group of friends and LoneStar legends hope to keep up their momentum going all the way to playoffs. They came up with two victories tonight against some quality opponents and all had fun while doing so. Kudos to them and best of luck to everyone else as the league enjoyed Sam Adams Octoberfest at MH Cafe!

Ladywood For A Championship! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps

The dodgeball season finally wrapped up as five teams battled it out for the crown. The previous league champion Eballa, matched up against Balls Deep in a heated battled between two rivals. Even though they may have only played each other a few times, the teams are well aware of everyone. The game was close until the end as Eballa was able to pull out the 4-2 victory.

The championship game awaited an Ladywood Knights team who have scared people off before the season even began. Their record was dominant throughout the year, enough to make their first round opponent seem like a breeze. The two faced off in an intense game but the Ladywood Knights had a game plan and stuck to it by winning the championship 4-2. Congrats to The Ladywood Knights on a wonderful season as they enjoy championship pitchers of Samuel Adams Winter Lager at The Addison Icehouse!

Chew Em Out! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps

The 6th week of went underway tonight and  Dallas Dodgeball went on tonight and as teams begin to reach playoffs, the more intense the games started to be tonight. Everyone played hard and left it all out on the court tonight!

The game to watch of the night came down to a match between Hit Squad vs Chew-Ball-Kas. Both teams played extremely hard and were all in the entire 7 matches. They were tied until the last game then came the pressure of the win or lose situation. Both having one player left in the end, Chew-Ball-Kas managed to come out on top! Both teams did a great job!

Ballin' Like Eballa! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps

The 5th week of Dallas Dodgeball wrapped up as teams are getting closer and closer to the playoffs.  Each match up was very competitive and its easy to see that every team is playing their Dodgeball Hearts out!

The game of the night was between the Ladywood Knights and Eballa.  Both teams were a little driained, playing in their earlier games, but they still had some juice left in the tank. Each team traded wins back and forth, with each game coming down to the last players. With the score tied at 3 games a piece, it came down to the final game to determine the winner.  Both teams come out throwing heat at each other. It came down to each team having two females; girl on girl action determined this game.  After a few tense moments, Eballa ended it by a catch against the Ladywood Knights female player! Congrats Eballa and best of luck to all the other teams as we enter the playoffs next week!

The Force Is Strong With Chew-Ball-Kas! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps

Week 4 of Dodge ball has came and gone. All the teams are giving all they got to secure a spot in the playoffs. Every game has been a battle leaving every team wondering if they will be fortunate enough to make the playoffs or will they be left sitting at home.

The game of the night was between the Hit Squad and Chew-Ball-Kas.  Hit Squad took a huge lead by taking 2 games themselves to start off.  Chew-Ball-Kas soon answered back by taking the next 2 games. Making it an even series at 2-2. Hit squad took the 5th game, but were unable to finish the series as Chew-Ball-Kas took the 6th.  Forcing it to the last and final game of the series. Chew-Ball-Kas decided it was their time to shine as they took the Hit Squad easily with a barrage of balls. Congrats Chew-Ball-Kas and hope to see you in the playoffs.

Winning Is Contagious! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps
Halfway through the dodgeball season and this is where teams get serious as the arms are use to the repetitive unloading of the cannon at the opponent.  It has been a wonderful few weeks of play!  Teams have buckled down and started to find their game!

Eballa finished playing Indoor Kickball, did their best Superman impression, and changed shirts to play dodgeball later on the night.  This team has quite the energy!  Their first game of the night was against Hit Squad.  Eballa came out on fire and did what their opponents team name says and hit every member on their squad with ease.  Give it up for Eballas as they are a very talented group by playing two different sports on one night in a matter of hours!  Raise a pitcher of Sam Adams Winter Lager at the Addison Icehouse in their honor!

On The Frontline! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps
After a few hours of balls flying off the feet, spectators and fellow dodgeball participants were ready to show off their arms in week two of dodgeball. Games were right on time and players were happy to get it rolling. A few veteran squads are scattered around the league this year and it seems like we have a good season ahead of us. The excitement is evident throughout the whole league but no one is having more fun than Full Frontal.

Yep, not too surprising how Full Frontal has stole the show early. Whether they show themselves on top of the leaderboard is irrelevant because they show out elsewhere. This group of friends is having a fun start to the season as a few crafty veterans are dispersed amongst a few new players to the league. They are starting to figure things out and it won't be too long before they starting creeping up on people, Full Frontal. Best of luck to everyone going forward, you will need it.

They Hit It And Quit It! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps
It's dodgeball season 2016! Contrary to popular belief of Elmer Fudd who said it's rabbit season and Bugs Bunny saying it's duck season but we all know what time it is!  Welcome back ladies and gents! Teams seemed really eager to peg others with dodge balls.  All that pent up family tension and now its time to release some stress!

The game of the night was between The Hit Squad and Untouchaballs.  Both teams started off evenly winning game a piece.  All the momentum shifted towards the Hit Squad as they wanted the Untouchaballs to know what their team name meant and the Hit Squad applied it well!  Hit Squad is known for their kickball skills and showed their versatility on the dodgeball court by winning 4 to 1!  Congratulations Hit Squad and come join us next week for all the action at Greenhill and afterwards at the Addison Ice House for ice cold Sam Adams Winter Lager!

Merry Championship! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps
The dodgeball season finally wrapped up as teams battled it out for the crown. HDR matched up against No Hit Sherlock in the first game in a heated battled between two rivals. Even though they may have only played each other a few times, the teams are well aware of everyone in the small league. The game was close until the end as HDR was able to calm their tempers and pull out the 4-2 victory!

The championship game awaited an Eballa team who have scared people off before the season even began. Their record was dominant throughout the year, enough to breeze past the first round opponent into the championship game. The two faced off in an intense game and HDR upset Eballa for the championship. Congrats to HDR on a wonderful season and thanks for a great year!

It's Elementary! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps
The week after Thanksgiving has finally hit about mid-stride as everyone is starting to settle back into their normal routines.  Both games provided some intense play throughout the night though and everyone involved had a good time!

No Hit Sherlock has made some strides throughout the season and found themselves down early against the undefeated Eballa. They fought hard back forcing seven games but unfortunately couldn't pull off the upset. In game two they were able to maintain their momentum into their second game to win in six games against a tough Glazer's bunch. One more week remains in the regular season and then it's all or nothing in playoffs the following week!

No Quit In Them! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps
What was more important than a key dodgeball game with LoneStar?  The Mavericks had a home game as one of the teams were unable to play this week. By no way did we let the night go to waste as the remaining teams fought hard the entire way. Arms were definitely getting tired on both sides as none of the teams had too many subs!

HDR battled with Eballa in the first match. Eballa got ahead early and jumped out to a 3-0 lead, although when they switched sides of the court, momentum shifted. HDR battled back strong and were able to steal two games back. Unfortunately they didn't have the fire power to complete the comeback but they definitely deserve some credit for their strong showing. Kudos to them for being cool with the one game night and best of luck to everyone else the rest of the way!

Glaze Those Dodgeballs! (Wednesday)

Lonestar Peeps
Balls were flying around the gym as it seems that everyone has had time to develop their arm strength over the week break. Teams are having fun regardless of the outcomes in each contest. The entertainment factor could be due to everyone's confidence in the tricky boundaries at Greenhill School or it could just be because everyone is loving the sport. Either way, teams are getting the hang of it, especially Glazer's!

Glazer's tried their best in their two games and unfortunately didn't receive the results they were looking for but afterwards it was hardly evident. This group of co-workers only had seven players, forcing their entire team to play the whole night without any breaks. They fought through their disadvantage and made the best out of their opportunities and ensured to have fun while doing so. LoneStar definitely appreciates their will to have fun and wish the best to them going forward!

Dodge, Dip, Duck, Dive, and Dodge!

Lonestar PeepsIf you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball.  If you can dodge a car you can dodge a ball. The season of Dodgeball is back.  Who's ready take out your stress with a friendly game of Dodgeball?

Last season was exciting! This season should be just as amazing as the last.  Get your arms and feet warmed up for a blazing start from dodged balls flying left and right.  Practice your dodges, dips, dives, ducks, and dodges because this isn't a panic ladies and gentlemen.  We hope to see returning teams and some new teams join up!  Let's get ready for some Dodgeball!!!

Started Dodging From The Bottom Now They're Champs!

Lonestar PeepsGoing into the playoffs, there were a few teams that were the heavy favorites due to their size in numbers.  Other teams were favored due to their skill set.  Then of course, certain teams were favored due to their record.  We found out that none of that mattered, especially to Dodge N Balls!

They came into the playoffs with the odds stacked against them as the bottom seed.  They faced a couple teams that have been on a hot streak in the later part of the season.   After getting through the 1st round of playoffs, Dodge N Balls hoped to pull out another victory in the Championship game against Eballa.  After the 3 games, Dodge N Balls took a 2-1 lead.  In every playoff, there is always that one play that swings momentum.  Dodge N Balls was down to their last player.  She managed to fight off four players and make a key catch to eliminate the last player before stepping out!  Take notes Dez Bryant!  Congrats to all the teams that participated and Dodge N Balls as the 2015 Winter Dodgeball Champions!

The Dirty Dirty! (Wednesday)

Lonestar PeepsThe season has came to a end but the fun is still going for the Dirty Dodgers!  This group of individuals have been in multiple sports for LoneStar and when we see them and their smiling faces, we know we are about to have a great time.

They came into the game with the odds stacked against them.  They faced a couple teams that have been on a hot streak in the later part of the season.  The Dirty Dodgers came up a little short in both games but didn't come up short in their spirit and love for the game.  The season has came to a close and the playoffs are here.  Make sure you join us at Sportsplex and The Hideaway to see the new champions!

Hot Dodgie! (Wednesday)

Lonestar PeepsThe season is coming to a end but the fun is far from over in the eyes of Hot Dodgie!  This group of individuals make sure you leave the Sportsplex with your sides hurting from all the laughter you will experience while hanging out with them.

They came to have fun and a dodgeball game broke out!  This team is so exciting that they have people wandering up from downstairs to see what all the excitement is!  The season is coming to a close and then playoffs will be here before you know it.  Make sure you join us at Sportsplex and The Hideaway for a great time!

Did Not See That Coming! (Tuesday)

Lonestar PeepsThe champions in the Ft. Worth dodgeball league has been crowned!  There was some intense playing going on in these parts but the smiles and laughter on eveyone's face would have told you that nothing was going on.

TMFW came into the night with one loss on the season and top seed.  They showed us why there were in that position.  Along with being one of the most social team in the league, they added a championship with it.  Add both of those features to the Abbey Pub and you have the makings of an incredible time!  Congratulations to all the teams that participated in the league this year!

No Shallow End Here! (Wednesday)

Lonestar PeepsHalfway through the season and there is no telling who will end up in the playoffs.  There is still talk about some football game being played in Arizona with two players that have great throwing arms.  We believe those reports are mis-leading and they were referring to the great arms here in the LoneStar dodgeball league!

The games were all full of excitement and great dodging. The game between Menace 2 Sobriety and Balls Deep was must see action. These teams went back and forth with some great dodging that some may consider dancing. After 6 games there was a 3-3 and both teams went to a 7th and deciding game. With some precision throws, Balls Deep was able to take the final game and the match victory.
